
Steven Marsh is the bearded guy waving in the lower left of the above picture. Steven Marsh, age 37, of New Philadelphia died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, in his home. Steven was born July 10, 1969, at Saline, Kan. He was 1987 graduate of Claymont High School and studied Industrial Mechanics at Buckeye Career Center. Steven was once employed as a carpenter prior to his disability. Steven was an avid chess player and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In addition to his membership in Alcoholics Anonymous, Steven was an active and valuable member of Advocacy, Choices & Empowerment Inc. (ACE) in New Philadelphia for over two years. He had a big heart and was always there to offer support in any way he could to other members. He greeted each person that walked through the front door with a smile and immediately welcomed them as part of the “ACE Family.” Steven was elected President and served in that capacity from July 2005 until July 2006. During his term, he achieved many positive and memorable accomplishments. He helped plan the First Annual Founder’s Day Celebration. Steven was also instrumental in seeing that a memorial plaque was dedicated and placed in the clubhouse to help remember other members who passed away. He worked to help the agency receive a grant from the Marsh Foundation toward the purchase of a passenger van. Steven regularly wrote articles for the ACE newsletter and also served on the video committee and outreach committee. He worked tirelessly to pass the Mental Health Levy by stressing its importance to the community. Steven believed in ACE and loved it with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by all of the members and dear friends he leaves behind at ACE. Steven was a loving son, father and brother who had a huge heart.
