Instruction Shooters looking for instruction can find plenty of helpful resources at Blue Sky. Free instruction is provided for beginners who want to learn the basics of shooting. Mike and Susan work often with first time shooters. Hundreds of women and men of all ages have learned the safe way to shoot Sporting Clays at Blue Sky. Mike Palmer, "As a sporting clays course owner, over the years I’ve watched students eventually lapse back into their old style, habits, and scores. There is a clear, concise message in this and unfortunately in most cases the inevitable truth. I wish it were a message that more shooters would take home from their lessons. Advertisements in trade magazines illustrate and reinforce the fact that the majority of shooters are looking for magic. They throw money at guns and roam from method to method, unhappy, always searching for some miracle that will break more targets. It is no different than dieters who look to fad diets and pills to lose weight. One of the analogies for students is that their lessons should be thought of as weight training. You need to return to the gym many times to see strength and definition increase. Without this preparation and training, improvement is just wishful thinking. Progress is a process requiring a commitment of time, patience and multiple sessions with a teacher." NSCA Level III Instructor Dan Schindler designed the course and returns to Blue Sky yearly to provide lessons for local shooters. He is a member of the Guild of Shooting Instructors of England and the author of two books on shooting. Experienced shooters who have achieved high levels of accomplishment, provide testimony to these facts through their visits to Dan's Paragon Shooting Academy. Dan and his instructors have proven, through their
innovative leadership in turning the national focus towards the mental aspects
of target shooting and competition, that
