Eckert Brothers Inc. opened for business in 1969, when brothers Ron & Bob Eckert purchased the Miller Implement Company in Sugarcreek. The original store was located in two buildings, across the street from one another, on Factory Street. Thus, they adopted the clever location slogan of "On both sides of Factory Street, in Sugarcreek". When Ron & Bob bought the business, they wanted a really snazzy, catchy name so they chose Eckert Brothers Incorporated. Not only are they good business men, but they are also creative as can be!
From then on it was success all the way. In January of 1991, Ron & Bob moved their business into a brand new state of the art facility on Buckeye Street. The new building, built on a 4 1/2 acre lot, contained over 18,000 square feet of sales, showroom and service area. Because the store was in one building, of course on the same side of the street, they now adopted the really clever location slug line of "One one side of Buckeye Street, in Sugarcreek".
They are members of the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau and the National Federation of Independent Business.
The store handles the following brands of equipment. For farmers, the Gehl line of forage, harvesting and manure spreaders are sold. This was so exciting at one point that the Eckert Brothers declared the entire month of February as MANURE MONTH, complete with an annual manure month banquet and a queen. They sell and service the Gehl product line in their store.
In the area of construction and utility equipment, Eckert Brothers sell Case equipment. This includes such items as Case back hoes and skid loaders. Service work on those machines is handled through the store.
In the lawn and garden line, they sell the full line
of Toro Wheel Horse
tractors and mowers. In fact they have been a Wheel Horse dealer for quite some
time, and have a fully stocked Wheel Horse parts and service department to fix those older
models. They also carry the Lawn
Boy lawn mower line. When you call our parts department, you will be talking to
Tim Eckert, a second generation Eckert son. He knows everything there is to know about
parts. In fact his middle name IS parts, which really had the kids laughing at school when
they would call out his full name of TIMOTHY PARTS ECKERT. He now just uses his middle
initial "P". Chain saws by Husqvarna are featured,
while the Tanaka
leaf blowers and trimmers help keep the weeds and debris to a minimum. Tim's brother Bill
is a fireman. Guess what his middle name is? That's right! It's Ronald.
The Eckert Brothers are also a dealer for Briggs & Stratton Engines as well as products by Kohler and Tecumseh. Give them a call with any questions you have about these products.
For your convenience, Eckert Brothers Inc. accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. They also have 90 days same as cash and extended terms to approved buyers. They are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 to 6, Tuesday from 7:30 to 5 (closing 1 hour early so Bob can get to his Rotary Club meeting), Saturdays from 7:30 to 3. Our World Wide Web Site is open 24 hours a day (yea, no kidding?!?!?). It's easy to get to our store. If you are coming from WEST of Sugarcreek, take State Route 39 EAST. Turn RIGHT at the street just BEFORE Andreas Furniture on Route 39 in Sugarcreek. Follow that road (Broadway) all the way back, bearing to the RIGHT at the Auction Barn, just past Nicholson Ford. The road now turns into Buckeye Street (why we don't know), and we are a few feet on the LEFT. If coming from EAST of Sugarcreek, take State Route 39 WEST. Turn LEFT at the first street after Andreas Furniture (Broadway), and follow that road all the way back past Nicholson Ford. Bear to the right at the Auction Barn and we are a few feet on the LEFT. Look for the giant CASE sign up in the air in front of our building. That's US!
