The greys get Science Diet Lamb & Rice w/garlic
powder, vegetables, rice, barely, or other nutritional items
in their food. Maggie gets Pedigree because they are smaller
chunks-easier to eat. They also get slowed grilled beef
tendons I buy out of the Jeffers catalogue. All the dogs
love them and they're excellent for their teeth & gums.
They each get one after dinner every night. They're feeding
pattern goes as follows: two large biscuits in the morning
for breakfast that is the equivalent of 1.5 cups of food,
some small treats at lunch, then two cups for dinner. Our
dogs maintain their weight very well, as a matter of fact,
Chip weighed 86lb when I went to this method of feeding and
he dropped to 82 lbs in a two + month period. They get their ears cleaned monthly and bathed every 6-8
weeks-or as needed. They get brushed weekly and their nails trimmed monthly
as well. They all get their teeth cleaned annually & brushed
about two times a week. We elevate their food for better digestion They all get vitamins every morning. We are currently enclosing 4.5 acres of flat land that I
own. Going to build a house there soon. Spoiled? Chase also has a little hitch in his giddy-up, due to a
broken leg. To watch all these greys run & frolic is
quite a sight. Both Stacie & I love the water. We have two fresh
water lakes nearby & I have a jetski. This will be our
first summer with Quincy, Fancy & Maggie- but we can
tell you Chip loves the water. He learned to swim (paddle) a
little bit so it's a start. Fancy & Quincy will be entered in their first lure
coursing event over memorial day weekend so we'll let you
know how they did. Our ex-racers were adopted from the Ohio Friends of
Greyhounds, and participate in meet-n-greets often. O.F.O.G.
is a Canton, Ohio base volunteer organization dedicated to
finding these wonderful dogs homes. To find out more about
O.F.O.G Click Here Ya know one of the greatest moments of my day is when I
come home from work & there are all my buddies, tails
going 100mph...which makes Maggie squint & run for cover
to avoid those greyhound weapons they call tails. Ya know the potato chip syndrome bit us hard, as a matter
of fact, we are thinkin (down the line) ...maybe just one
more grey! Well, thanks for stopping by - we all appreciate it.
We'll update this page often (probably quarterly-that's
every three months) and provide you new & interesting
insights into our lives. So join us for another episode of
"Three greyhounds & a little beagle puppy called
Maggie!" Final thought...Kudos to all those who volunteer their
time, effort, & dedication to finding these noble,
elegant, graceful, affectionate, (somebody stop me!) dogs
homes - hopefully one day we won't have to put another grey
down.

Our packs friends include a female-Jack Russell (who loves
Quincy) named Casey, and a toy fox terrier named Kippy. A
black lab named Katie, a yellow lab named Zar, & a boxer
named Dado. Dado & Chip really love playing. Greyhound
friends include all the adopted and adoptable dogs at Ohio
Friends of Greyhounds and two special greyhound friends,
Charlie & Chase. Charlie is a blue (80lb) Greyhound
who's about 4 years old. Chase is a red brindle who's about
5 years old. Chase recently had a couple teeth pulled
because they were bad.
Away in a Kennel
Away in a kennel
Concrete for a bed
the poor lonely greyhound
Lay done his sweet head
The stars in the heavens
They twinkle so bright
the poor little greyhound
alone for the night
The kennel is chilly
What shall be his fate
the sad little greyhound
Alone he must wait
His life has been racing
Career at an end
the sad little greyhound
Awaits a new friend
Away from the kennel
A kiss on his head
the happy young greyhound
lay on a twin bed
he's warm and he's comfy
His life is brand new
The poor lonely greyhound
found love...it was you!
