Chief Jeff Urban welcomes you on behalf of the men and women of the New Philadelphia Police Department to our World Wide Website. We are a community of approximately 18,000 residents, located in the county seat of Tuscarawas County.

We are a local law enforcement agency currently staffed with 24 full-time commissioned officers and staff, supported by an Auxiliary Unit.

The Department's main function is to protect and serve our citizens and the many visitors to our city. Our officers strive to do whatever they can to improve the quality of life by addressing citizens' concerns on a wide range of issues. In order to be successful in making New Philadelphia a safe, pleasant place to live, work and visit, we openly welcome the involvement of the community. Without that involvement we could not be successful.
