OHIO
HUSKIE MUSKIE CLUB, Inc.
This web site is the Internet Home of the Ohio Huskie Muskie Club Inc., an organization
dedicated to sport fishing, sportsmanship and conservation of Ohio's largest fish
species... The Muskellunge. The Purpose of the Ohio Huskie Muskie Club, Inc.
1.To foster and promote sport fishing for Ohio's largest species... "The
Muskellunge"
2.To promote release of non-trophy size muskellunge.
3.To promote good sportsmanship and brotherhood among men, women and children.
4.To provide the Division of Wildlife with statewide information on muskellunge catch
and harvest.
Why an Ohio Huskie
Muskie Club, Inc.?
With the increased catch of muskellunge from Ohio waters, interest among fishermen grew
and the Ohio Division of Wildlife needed to obtain information on the muskellunge catch
and harvest. So in 1961, Merrille C. Gilfillan formed the Ohio Huskie Muskie Club, Inc. to
officially record all the muskies caught each year. The club has proven to be an excellent
vehicle for obtaining information that is valuable in evaluating fish management
activities and planning for the future.
Who is the Ohio Huskie
Muskie Club, Inc?
The Ohio Huskie Muskie Club, Inc. are you, your family, your friends and neighbors and
any other avid muskie fishermen.
What is the Ohio Huskie
Muskie Club, Inc.?
The Ohio Huskie Muskie Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to
promoting the sport of muskie fishing in the state of Ohio. We encourage all of our members to help educate the muskie fishing public about the importance of providing the Division of
Wildlife with biological information on catch and harvest throughout the state. Through our partnership with the ODNR, Ohio's fish biologists have developed one of the finest muskie fisheries in the country. The OHMC encourages anglers to provide the ODNR with catch and release information through education, and by requiring the reporting of fish for all club recognitions.
