Will of ISAAC SKEELS
Dtd 13 Aug 1864 - Proven 16 June 1869
Probate & Rec 18 June 1869

In the Name of the Benevolent Father of all I Isaac Skeels of the County of Tuscarawas and State of Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testiment.

Item 1st I do give and bequeath to my son in law William Herin the land on which I now live in Union township Tuscarawas County Ohio containing eighty acres it being the east half of the north east quarter of section twenty four (24) township 14 range seven (7) containing 77 acres more or less on this

Item 2nd said William Herin is to pay in one year after my death the following sums namely one hundred dollars to my son David Skeils, to my son Samuel Skeils one hundred dollars, to my son Thomas Skeils Skeils one hundred dollars, to my daughter Jane Herin one hundred dollars, to my Daughter Mary Carns one hundred dollars, to my son Asbery Skeils one hundred Dollars, to my son Charles Skiels one hundred dollars, to Mary Jane Sparks fifty dollars, to Luther Rickets fifty dollars; said different sums to be paid by said Wm Herin one year after my death and also to pay my lawfull depth debts and Funeral expences said Herin to have all my household goods and chattels at my death and i do hereby revoke all former wills by me made and I do hereby appoint Samuel Skeils my son Executor of this my last will as above specified.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13 day of August AD 1864.

Tuscarawas County } ssI William Rutledge being duly sworn in open Court this the
16th day of June AD 1869 depose and say that I and William True were present at the execution of the last will and testament of Isaac Skeels (now deceased) hereunto annexed; and that I saw the said testator subscribe said will and hear him publish and declare the same to be his last will and testament, and that the said testator at the time of executing the same was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint, and that we signed the same as witnesses at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other.

Tuscarawas County } ss I William True being duly sworn in open Court this 18th day of June AD 1869 depose and say that I and William Rutledge were present at the execution of the last will and testament of Isaac Skeels (now deceased) hereunto annexed, and that I saw the said testator subscribe said will and heard him publish and declare the same to be his last will and testament, and that the said testator at the time of executing the same was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint, and that we signed the same as witnesses at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other.

Be it remembered that in the Probate Court of the County of Tuscarawas and State of Ohio on Friday the 18th day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty nine at the town of New Philadelphia within said County before A.W. Patrick Judge of said Court among the proceedings then and there had were the following viz:

the will of } County of Tuscarawas and State of Ohio having been produced in
Isaac Skeels } this Court on the 16th day of June AD 1869 thereupon afterward
came William Rutledge and William True the subscribing witnesses to said will and in open Court on oath testified to the due execution and attestation of said will, which testimony was reduced to writing and by them respectively subscribed and filed with said will, and it appearing to the Court by said testimony that said will was duly executed and attested and that the said testator at the time of executing the same was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not under restraint. It is ordered by the Court that said will be and the same is hereby admitted to probate and together with the testimony is ordered to be recorded.
