Transportation

Transportation is being provided throughout the county for doctor appointments, grocery shopping, personal business, etc. Please call the center closest to your residence, preferably 24 hours in advance, to make arrangements. Vans are available at each Satellite Site Monday thru Friday
from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
.

 

New Freedom Transportation

Evening and weekend hours are now available through New Freedom Transportation.

Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m

Sunday: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m


Fees

$ 3.00 - One Way within Tuscarawas County

$ 5.00 - Round Trip within Tuscarawas County

Each additional rider from the same address pays 1/2 the fare when traveling to the same desination. Children 12 and under ride free, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

In-Home Services

Personal Care and Homemaker services
will be provided for those who are
age 60 and older and reside in
Tuscarawas County.

Nutrition

A hot nutritious meal is served weekdays at 11:30. Call by 9:30 a.m. the day of for reservations.
Cost is $2.00 for 60 and older
and $5.00 for those who are not.
Breakfast is available on Thursdays and Fridays 8:00 - 9:30. Reservations are not needed for breakfast and is open to the public.


Telephone Reassurance

Phone Calls are made daily by our trained volunteers to provide comfort and support.

Minor Home Repair

Assistance is available to homeowners for
minor home repairs. An assessment is made
and those over the income level will pay on a sliding fee schedule. Contact Ken Robb.

 

Prescription Drug Assistance

This service assists seniors in finding programs to save on the cost of prescription drugs through pharmaceutical companies or thourgh Medicare Part D enrollment.

Medical Assessments

Every month blood pressure and pulse rate checks are available. Periodically other medical assessments such as cholesterol,
blood sugar testing, hearing and
eye screenings are offered.
All assessments are conducted by nurses and/or trained personnel.

Friendly Visitor Program

Upon request, trained volunteers will routinely visit individuals in nursing homes to provide support and socialization. Contact Patti Ippolito.


Total Fitness

Join in stretching, bending and movement
exercise sessions that will make you feel more energetic and limber. Contact Patti Ippolito.
